World Say Hello?

… for we return once more with blogs. And info. Mainly I thought I’d comment on the ludicrously high spec fan-series Starship Exeter which is derived from Star Trek the Original Series.
The costumes are there, the settings are good, the SFX are as good if not better than what we originally saw – including falling styrofoam ceilings – the only thing that squeaks is the full contact fight-scenes, and thats simply a matter of these guys not being trained stuntmen.
Thats having to pick quite some nits to find sum’pin In My Humble. Also checked out New Voyages, which is the second half of the five year mission of TOS, but its not quite as good. I can cut a lot of slack for other captains and crews in the same time period, but soory, that guys not really Kirk, that gals not really Uhura, although it does look like thats really the Enterprise.
Having said that, none of them are coming anywhere near IMPS: The Relentless in terms of sheer wow-factor. I’m a pretty big Star Trek fan, and right up until Nemesis proved to be so bitterly tainted, I was fairly gung-ho about the Federation – but no matter what, you just can’t beat the Galactic Empire for eye-candy-factor.
