Hurtling Back

Hiigara, my home.

This latest trip to Dublin was the perfect stack of dovetailing events. I do realise I am becoming steadily biased as my view of home is burnished by the fact that I only return for gatherings or events of import – which in turn means every time I am back I meet everyone and have fun. This time was most enjoyable – I, along with some two and a half dozen others managed to ambush Savage Mick, who utterly failed his ’sense motive’, botched, flunked, failed so bad. It was his birthday and a huge amount of scheming, coordinating and alternate-plan-knobbling had been going on. I was ordered into the country and duly hid out for the day, then nipped in and hid down the back of the room as he was led down the stairs with Mr. E acting as Judas goat.

Good meal, near everyone was there, I threw some pictures up on flickr. Much of the action happened in places too dark even for my mighty new V3i so no record of the scandal and debauchery exists, jolly good for all involved, say no more, say no more.
I also met Savages sister Orlaigh for the first time since she’s all growed up and sensible like, kipped on the couch near sun-up and then had a natter with Savage again – once he recovered the power of speech from whatever wookieish spirit had nicked it – and trundled home with a fat, fat copy of Castle of Blood to gleefully peruse.

This was the anticipated fun, and well worthwhile it was, but the bonus fun was CCCP Micks going-away BBQ, since he’s leaving to go to Manchester to get a job with a flat, car and salary, if you please. Cloneboy picked me up at lunch and we spent the rest of the day running about, running into his sister and her husband, printing things off, sorting things out and generally prepping for the shenanigans.

Cloneboy was dismayed when people actually turned up for the BBQ when he told them to, as needless to say he had nothing prepared at that stage…

Lots of fun all around, very little headache and tiredness, good times.
