One of the major stories in the tiny, twitter-centered San Francisco A-List has been the Secret Diary of Steve Jobs. Jobs, of course has been written about in endless articles, but the fake Steve took the world by storm. It’s a familiar format to anyone who has read R.O’C-K. At their freshest, they both make compelling, funny and biting reading.
Valleywag spent ages trying to track him down, but ultimately it was Brad Stone at the NY Times that broke Forbes’s Senior Editor Dan Lyons as the Fake Steve. Interestingly, despite having been revealed, the appeal of Fake Steve doesn’t seem to have diminished. It turns out that Dan Lyons is a Very Funny Man and he hits the right level of humour in his attitude to the whole event.
I will be getting a copy of Option$ as soon as I am done with my current two books. I think it might go nicely with Stephen Colbert’s Book. Why not a fake CEO to go with a Real Presidential candidate?

I’m not so sure how Real Colbert’s candidacy is — word on the street is that both the Republicans and Democrats turned him down when he applied to be on the primary ballots in SC.
Of course, that word is a few weeks old, and now that there’s a writer’s strike going on I may never be informed again.

Actually, the ‘rumour’ in the MSM is that Colbert didn’t want to pay $30,000 for registering on the GOP ballot, saying he got his black market liver for less. The Dems voted him out after he applied.
You and I both know that these are lies, and that the fact the he was only applying in SC had no impact on his bid, AND that Americans do understand attempts at dry humour.

I have no idea what you refer to when you say “dry humour.”
