Today I was thinking of all the things I never thought to ask my grandmother before she went. How do you know what you should ask? I think those questions occur to us when we're ready for the answers and not before...unfortunately, the ones with the questions aren't always around when we're ready. Keep crocheting...I think it's great!

I remember her fondly as well, though I'm sure not as clearly as ya'll do. It's funny the things we remember from early childhood; when she asked me if I wanted to sleep with socks on and I looked at her like she was crazy, she told me that her grandmother had told her that whatever temperature your feet are, the rest of your body will be too, so keeping your feet warm at night is crucial if you want to sleep well.

I wish I had been old enough to learn to crochet when she taught ya'll. I remember being slightly jealous about that. ;) I still have the blanket she made for me, too. Even though the pale greens, pinks, yellows and blues in it don't really fit the color scheme I generally surround myself with now, looking at that blanket is always strangely comforting.

I still smile fondly on those times. I have great memories of Mrs. Murdock. I still have the blanket she made for me, and I don't think I could ever part with it.

I too wish I could have picked her brain more when she was alive. To quote from Brigadoon "Why do you have to lose something to find out what it means?"

I hope you feel better. The flu sucks.
