I can confirm that Sarah is indeed exceedingly cute, though it turns out my opinion is light on credibility.

Sarah's mother is in flying form, and doing excellently having been a real trooper throughout, and will be coming home on Wednesday. There will be pints in Cassidy's tonight (Monday) at about nine to celebrate my stepping up a generation.

No need to worry about the pink, as my aunt, who has a fetish for the colour, will be supplying it in endless measure. The hand knits are only gorgeous and will be pressed into service, actions photos to follow. Much comment was made about the lack of stitching in the cardigan and the turning of the shoulder, not to mention discerning the pattern used on the blanket. Ahh clothing parcels from the USA, how terribly traditional :)

Many thanks for all the good wishes! Looking forward to seeing you at Christmas already :)

I would like to add my distinct pleasure at hearing of the safe arrival of Sarah. We look forward to her getting a blog, twitter account and some sort of database to hold thousands of knitted items from friendly knitters around the place :D

Ohhhhhh I hate pink. I hate the "Girls wear pink, boys wear blue" traditions. Sarah won't be getting a single damned pink thing from me unless she asks for it herself. And even then it'll come with a lecture about gender stereotypes.

I love it when friends have kids because you can watch them grow up and be a part of their lives and still hand them over when they start screaming. :)

In other news, I just found out that another set of friends are having a girl for their second child, so I'm starting to think about all sorts of cute pink things I can knit for her.
