Of ‘you’ll be told where you’re going by the end of the month’. The whipsaw between tension and apathy is getting me down. Uncouth office mate displaying unholy glee at my being sent to Nigeria/pity at my being alone at nights/scorn at my lack of elite French education beginning to grate on the nerves.

While the guy from South Asia & the West African discussed the finer points of safety on assignment in the West Africans country and the Irish guy, South American woman and North African snickered in the offices of a French company based in Scotland, I realised we ain’t really dealing with a monoculture here…
